MushPellets: the mushroom farming pellet we grow on

MushPellets are what we grow on. Our farm in Kerala makes 35 tonnes of substrate a month, and this is the same mix, pressed into pellets for your grow room.

What's in MushPellets? That's the secret.

The base is Kerala rubber wood. The rest of the recipe works like a certain famous cola: a handful of people know it, and it stays locked in a safe at our farm.

What we will tell you is what it does. Every bag is the same mix, so every grow starts from the same place. Add water and the pellets break back down into a loose, even substrate for wood-loving mushrooms.

How to grow oyster mushrooms on MushPellets

  1. Bag it. 1 kg of MushPellets in a polypropylene cover.
  2. Hydrate. Add 1.5 litres of boiling water. Let it cool.
  3. Add spawn. 150 g of mushroom spawn per bag. Seal it.
  4. Incubate. Let the mycelium colonise the bag.
  5. Fruit. Once it's fully colonised, cut an X in the bag and start spraying.
